5 Tips for Using Disposable Vape Pens

Disposable vape pens are all the rage these days. As they are very user-friendly and offer maximum convenience, disposables have become a great choice for retailers and users. Many people are turning to e-cigarettes due to their discreet nature and the fact that it does not produce unpleasant odors.

Unlike other e-cigarette styles , disposable vape pens are sleek, compact, and require no maintenance or troubleshooting. However, that’s not to say these devices are completely intuitive or impervious to damage.

Here’s a guide to using disposable vape pens and how they work so you can maximize the life of your device.

What are disposable vape pens?

Vape pens are repackaged versions of early e-cigarettes, but with a smaller, more modern design. They fit discreetly in your hand and are available in a variety of flavors. The purpose of these small devices is to provide you with nicotine or non-nicotine e-liquids through an electronic route, without the strong effects of smoke.

Disposable e-cigarettes also allow users to choose the flavor and nicotine level they want. Some disposable vape pens don't have any nicotine at all.

If you’re a regular vape pen user, the art of vaping is simple. However, before you dive into tips on how to use it, it helps to understand how these devices work.

How Disposable Vape Pens Work

These e-cigarette solutions are already charged and ready to use, with the e-liquid pre-filled in the device. As the name suggests, the idea is to be able to throw them away once the cartridges are used up.

The device consists of several different parts: the tank, battery, atomizer, and mouthpiece.

The tank (or cartridge) holds the juice or oil, while the battery powers the electronics. The atomizer  heats the juice to turn it into vapor, and the mouthpiece is what you use to inhale the vapor.

Now for the best tips on how to use this device properly:

1. Check if your device is operating normally

Disposable e-cigarettes may or may not have a button to activate the device. With so many brands out there, there are some functional differences between them.

If your pen does have this button, click it before you try to inhale. button to turn on the device. After you click the button, an indicator light (usually blue, white, or green) should light up to let you know the device is ready to use.

However, some disposable e-cigarettes don't have an "on" button. Instead, you activate them simply by inhaling. In this case, the light indicates that the device is producing vapor. All you have to do is inhale it through the mouthpiece (the small opening on the top). As you inhale, the light should light up or flash.

With disposable items, it's best to check that the device is working properly soon after purchase. The "disposable" nature of these items means that manufacturers sometimes use lower-quality materials. The internal mechanisms may not always work the way they should.

2. Breathe in smoothly—don’t force it

As mentioned earlier, when you activate the stylus by inhaling, the battery powers the heating chamber. This process then heats the juice or oil in the tank. The heat then turns the liquid into vapor, which you can inhale.

Because inhaling activates the device, it is critical to inhale correctly. When inhaling, it is best to inhale small amounts at a time (approximately 2-3 seconds), especially if you are a first-time user. This way, you will not be overwhelmed by inhaling too deeply. For some people, deep inhalations of vapor can be uncomfortable.

Inhaling too hard or too vigorously can cause dizziness and lightheadedness. It can also overwork the nebulizer, rendering the device unusable for sustained use.

3. Store your equipment properly

A 0.5g vape pen can usually hold about 150 puffs, while a 1g vape pen can hold 300. Its lifespan also depends on how often you puff on it.

Since you want to ensure that your device lasts as long as possible to get the most value from your purchase, storing it properly is essential. You should store the pen in a cool, dry place. Too much exposure to moisture or direct sunlight can affect the performance and battery life of the device.

However, it is not recommended to store your e-cigarettes for long periods of time, but only for short periods of time. E-liquids can expire, and since the cartridges in disposable pens are not removable, you could be inhaling e-liquid that has gone bad.

4. Do not attempt to disassemble

Rechargeable pens allow you to keep the device, charge it, and replace the tank (or pod) with a new cartridge when you're done. No need to frequently throw the device away, just plug it into the charger to recharge.

Disposable devices have a completely different design, which means you cannot recharge or refill them. It is extremely important that you do not attempt to disassemble the device or attempt to recharge it when using a disposable vape pen. Disposables are not meant to be rechargeable or disassembled, and attempting to recharge them could compromise the safety of the device.

5. Safe disposal

With disposables, once you've used up the juice in a cartridge, you can throw it away and buy another one, rather than recharging it and buying more cartridges.

Typically, you can just throw it into any trash container. However, to dispose of the pen in a more environmentally friendly way, you can always drop off the used device at a hazardous materials management facility or somewhere that recycles batteries in your area.
